The Greatest Beer Run Ever

WHY

After his excellent Green Book, director Peter Farrelly offers us his new film, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, which deals with another chapter of American history, the Vietnam War. Based on an incredible true story, we will follow the journey of a young man who will voluntarily go to the war zone to deliver beer to his friends from the neighborhood! The director masters very well the alternation between humor and the more dramatic side of the story as the look on the anti-war demonstrations, the loss of hope of a whole generation or the information war. Its main character will really evolve from the beginning to the end of the film in contact with the horrors of war. The casting led by Zac Efron is really excellent and especially Russell Crowe and Bill Murray. We are really transported in this very touching story!

WHAT

To show support for his neighborhood friends serving in Vietnam, Chickie Donohue (Zac Efron) decides to do something totally outrageous: travel to the frontline by himself to bring the soldiers a little piece of home — their favorite can of American beer. However, what started as a well-meaning journey quickly turns into the adventure of a lifetime as Chickie confronts the reality of this controversial war and his reunions with his childhood buddies thrust him into the complexities and responsibilities of adulthood. Based on an incredible true story, “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” is a heartfelt coming-of-age tale about friendship, loyalty and sacrifice.
