I Know What You Did Last Summer

WHY

We were quite skeptical when Amazon Studios announced in 2019 the preparation of a series based on the novel I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan (released in 1973) and the slasher of the same name. The film was a decent B-series with an iconic killer but nothing more. But from the first episode of this series, we are rather surprised in a good way. Starting by the change of scenery as the series take place in Hawaii and especially thanks to the actress Madison Iseman (that we could see in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) who delivers a double performance really mastered and touching! The rest of the cast is less interesting and anyway, they will start to disappear in a brutal way one after the other. The series is much more gory than the movie! And it’s not the only difference from the movie, there will be many surprise and interesting choices but we won’t spoil you, we will let you discover them. Benefiting of a more important length, the story and the characters are much more developed, especially the adults and the life of the community and the police investigation. And after 4 episodes, we are well hyped and we are eager to discover more and of course to know the identity of the serial killer!

WHAT

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a modern take on the hit 1997 horror film that honors the same chilling premise – in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night. The project is based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan.
