This weekend marks the highly anticipated return of the Stranger Things teens, but more importantly, our favorite Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi!

Check out our mini-reviews and have a great weekend!

You can still have a longer list of the releases under the “This Friday” section on the homepage.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

What a pleasure to see again Ewan McGregor in his iconic costume of Obi-Wan Kenobi! The actor and the character are still as charismatic as ever, even during their somewhat anodyne daily routine. Taking place some years after the events of Episode III, Obi-Wan is haunted by what happened to Anakin Skywalker and the error of his training. He remains frozen in the past but rest assured, things will quickly change and we will be able to enjoy Obi-Wan again back in action! Even if we spend a lot of time on Tatooine at the beginning of this new series, it is still Star Wars show and we will discover new planets as well as others well known in more detailed way. And this is also true for the cast with the return of Joel Edgerton and Jimmy Smits and other characters that we will let you discover which ones. As for the enemies, we discover the Inquisitors who seem to be really tough and determined to eliminate all the Jedis. The series is much better than The Book of Boba Fett because it is directed by only one person, Deborah Chow, who brings her experience of The Mandalorian and gives a western aspect to the series and above all she stays really in control, the total opposite of what Robert Rodriguez did on Boba Fett! After two episodes, we are really taken by the story, which delivered us many surprises and we can’t wait to see more and of course the return of our favorite enemy in the whole Star Wars universe!

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Stranger Things – Season 4: Volume 1

The wait is finally over to discover the continuation of the adventures of our favorite teenagers! We find them in high school and each one lives it differently. This new season will introduce new characters and of course, a new super villain. This one has a real charisma and is really disturbing. The first thing that strikes you with these new episodes is the much more mature and horrific aspect as well as their duration which often exceeds one hour! The pace is a little too slow for our taste but it still helps to amplify the appearances of the villain and its murders. The Duffer Brothers offer us again a really interesting soundtrack. And it’s a real pleasure to see again in addition to the teenagers, our favorite character of the series, Hopper and you will love it even more! We can feel a rise in power and we can’t wait to see the final confrontation! Which brings us to the only big negative aspect, this new really bad habit of Netflix to cut a season in two just to make their content last longer! Despite this flaw, this half-season is very enjoyable to watch and really entertaining!

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
