The Gray Man

For their second film outside the MCU, after Cherry, the Russo brothers offer us an action film in the world of CIA agents and led by a top casting with Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas and especially Chris Evans as a freewheeling villain. The story, based on the novel of the same name, is really very classic and the real interest lies in the action scenes that are very dynamic even if they are sometimes over cutted. The directors tried to bring visual elements during the fights like fireworks, flashlights and flares which make these sequences more interesting. These sequences are mostly very intense like the one with the plane and the streetcar. If you enjoy massive destructions, you will be really pleased. We feel that the directors wanted to have fun and it really works, what a pleasure to see Ana de Armas as action girl much more often than in the last James Bond movie. Another interesting element is the diversity of the visited locations, the film really takes us through the world and that is refreshing. We have to admit that we also really appreciated Chris Evans who really lets loose as a bad guy, breaking completely his Captain America nice image. The movie is a very good entertainment not to be missed!

When the CIA’s most skilled operative-whose true identity is known to none-accidentally uncovers dark agency secrets, a psychopathic former colleague puts a bounty on his head, setting off a global manhunt by international assassins.
