Netflix invites us to discover New Raccoon City with its new series about Resident Evil. The series is taking places years after the Resident Evil movies, no Alice for the moment after a few episodes, and proposes us to follow the daughters of the well known Albert Wesker (played by the always very good Lance Reddick, seen in John Wick in particular). It’s really nice to follow new characters and especially with the discovery of the world after the incident. As you can imagine, it’s a post-apocalyptic time in which humans and especially Umbrella Corporation are much more dangerous than the infected and the various monsters. Speaking about them, you will be delighted because the bestiary is very varied and interesting! The choice to feature the two different time frames in parallel is really well thought out and allows to increase the tension in some revelations. The series is relatively gory, which will please fans of the genre and Umbrella Corporation is still as machiavellian and overpowering. The series is very enjoyable to watch!
Year 2036 – 14 years after the spread of Joy caused so much pain, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and mind-shattering creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.
